Do you remember that plate of macaroni and cheese? Either baked with sharp cheddar & a sprinkling of crispy bread crumbs or made from a box. Macaroni and cheese remains one of the most American comfort foods and one of my most fond childhood memories. if you crave your mom’s recipe for home fashioned macaroni and cheese. this version is one of our favorites so far. INGREDIENTS
Macaroni 1 pound
Butter 6 tablespoons
All-purpose flour 6 tablespoon
Milk 3 cups
Heavy cream 1 cup
White cheddar 1 pound, shredded
Romano 4 ounces, shredded
Asiago 4 ounces, shredded
Bread crumbs 2 cups
Parsleys 2 tablespoons, chopped
Add salt & pepper to taste
In pot, bring salted water to a boil then add macaroni over high heat until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and Set aside.
In a saucepan, cook butter with little Sprinkled flour on medium heat. whisking until it forms into a paste (about 2 to 3 minutes), Add milk and mix well. Cook over medium-low heat until it thickens. Add all of the cheese, heavy cream, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until cheese is melted.
Mix the cooked macaroni to the melted cheese mixture, mix well. Place in a baking dish and add bread crumbs on top. Place in a 325 degrees Preheat oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. serve with fresh parsley sprinkled on top.
