I was born in the 80's and yes it is true!!! We learned to play in the street, and learned to play video games starting with the ATARI, and Super Nintendo. We took the ATARI joystick apart and stuck it on our foreheads, leaving a black mark behind. I witnessed Microsoft Windows 95 in school, and yes we did record songs off the radio on cassettes. Sometimes we rewind the cassette using a pencil to save batteries on the Walkman! At first you spin the pencil then after getting tired, you will find that spinning the cassette while holding the pencil is much easier. These were the 80’s. My life began in the city of Kalamazoo Michigan where I was born; I grew up in an U.S culture where at the time of breakfast we always nagged for peanut butter and jelly with toast or that cold cereal with milk, usually Cornflakes with milk and a ton of sugar poured over the top. At dinner my mother tried to make us eat healthy things but we nagged. On weekends my father would take us to have french fries, Mickey mouse pancakes with syrup, and also the Check ‘N’ Cheese’s pizza franchise that still exist today. In school, peanut butter sandwiches with a small carton of milk for lunch is what I remember most in Kalamazoo. Shortly after, my father decided that we move back to another world, the place where my parents were born, In the Middle East, the city of Zarka – Jordan.
